A little more about me

I’m Mayra a bilingual Latina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of San Diego, California.

I was born and raised in Southern California where I have lived most of my life. My Mexican roots are a huge part of my life, especially living in a border city such as San Diego.

As a San Diegan, I enjoy spending time at the beach, catching a good beach sunset with a Cali burrito and my dogs. I also enjoy going for hikes, camping, traveling, and trying out new coffee and matcha shops. My guilty pleasure is reality TV, I enjoy a good reality TV series.

My Education

I graduated with my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy w/ Latine Community from Pepperdine Unviversity. I also graduated with with my Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in Psychology and Chicana/o Studies from California State University Northridge.

Much of my formal training is rooted in more post-modern approach to therapy, which often focus on wholistic forms of navigating issues such as storytelling, somatic work, and collective work within the therapy space.
